Pt. Ram Kumar Mishra is one of the top ranking exponents of Tabla in India. He is the grandson of Tabla wizard late Pt. Anokhe Lal Mishra and son of legendary vocalist Padma Bhushan Pt. Chhannu Lal Mishra. Ram Kumar Mishra has started his “Tabla Talim” from his mother Smt. Manorama Mishra, Doughter of Pt. Anokhe Lal ji at the age of 4. Highly gifted Ram Kumar ji has performed throughout the length and breadth of India as a solo artist and as an accompanist to almost all the top musicians and covering all major music festival. Have first concert in the age of 11.

Since 1983 till date he has been performing for the SPIC MACAY as a solo Tabla artist and also as an accompanist to all the leading schools, colleges, universities.
He regularly performs on Abroad as solo or with co- artist to maestros. He has travelled intensively in USA, Europe, England, Australia, Japan, UAE and many more countries across the Globe.
Pt. Ram Kumar had his training to accompany with vocal from his father legendary vocalist Padma Bhushan Pt. Chhannu Lal Mishra ji. Ram Kumar had worked as a Tabla instructor at the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi as faculty of performing arts from 1985 to 2003. He has been acted as internal and external examiner during university examinations and also set question paper of annual examination at B.H.U. This is a unique quality of Ram Kumar ji that he is not a famous stage performer, an outstanding teacher having all kind of skills and characteristics of a great Tabla instructor. This is the reason why he has a great strength of upcoming Tabla artist of the country and pandit ji ha a habit to teach them with all compassion and patience whenever he got some time from his busy schedule.
